Linux, BlitzMAX, x86?

Forgive what is likely a foolish and Linux-inexperienced question, but am I correct in assuming that BMAX needs x86 compatible architecture to function?

It would be absolutely, absolutely perfect for Pandora.

People have got it working on ubuntu 64 i believe. I think somebody wrote a howto somewhere.
