| string$ - text to write to the screen |
|
Writes text to the screen without starting a new line. Write is Print's sibling: same console-style text cursor, but the cursor stays at the end of what was written, so several Writes build up a single line - useful for progress dots, or a prompt that Input then continues. Like Print, it draws in the current Color and font, always onto the front buffer, so the text appears immediately whatever SetBuffer is targeting - and the screen scrolls up when the cursor reaches the bottom. Position the cursor with Locate. For text placed at exact pixel coordinates as part of a game display, use Text on the back buffer instead. See also: Print, Locate, Input, Text. |
