Notify text$[,serious]
Parameters
|
text$ - message to display serious (optional) - 0 shows an information icon (default); any other value shows a warning icon |
Description
|
Pops up a simple message box and waits until the user presses OK. The quickest way to tell the user something in a tool: "Level exported", "No objects to paste", "Could not find the texture folder". The message text is UTF-8, so anything you can put in a Blitz string displays correctly. The box is modal and owned by your active GUI window - the program waits inside the call until it is dismissed. Around it, the shared event queue receives begin-modal and end-modal events ($2004/$2005), which a canvas-rendering tool can use to pause animation while the box is up. For a question rather than an announcement, use Confirm (OK/Cancel) or Proceed (Yes/No/Cancel). Requires Extended mode. See also: Confirm, Proceed, RequestFile, RequestDir. |
