FreeTreeViewNode node
Parameters
| node - tree view node to remove |
Description
|
Removes a node from a tree view, along with all its children. Deletes the node from the tree for good - unlike CollapseTreeViewNode, which only hides a branch. The whole branch under it goes too, and every freed node's handle becomes invalid; using one afterwards stops with a runtime error, so drop any copies you stored in your own scene data. This is the delete half of keeping a hierarchy in sync with your world: the user removes an entity, you FreeEntity the 3D object and FreeTreeViewNode its row in the hierarchy pane. Two edges to know: the invisible root you get from TreeViewRoot cannot be freed - trying stops with a runtime error (free the tree view gadget itself, or free the root's children one by one) - and FreeTreeViewNode 0 is a harmless no-op. The world editor shell sample shows the scene hierarchy pattern this belongs to. Requires Extended mode.
