California Extreme

Bit Off topic, but it is games related.

They announced the dates for this years California extreme event. http://www.caextreme.org/

CAX is a pinball/arcade event in the bay area(san jose). The entry fee might seem steep, but all of the games are set to free-play. I went for my first time last year, and had a blast. Never had to wait to play the games I wanted to. Lots of rare and prototype arcade machines. classic and new. Hundreds of machines. This year I'm bringing a few of my own arcade machines. If you bring 3, you get in to the event for free.

Very cool! I remember those days. Nothing like the sounds of square/sine/saw waves increasing and decreasing in pitch to get your attention :). I don't see Space Invaders in the 2008 game list. *scratches head*

Yeah, doesn't look like space invaders was there last year. One of the all time classics. Hopefully someone will bring it this year.

Having grown up in the arcade era, there's nothing like an entire building full of those bleeps and bloops. The first generation of games to use voice synthesis wee awesome! "Space Cadet!", "ha ha ha" , "intruder alert"
