Problem installing MingW on Vista64

Can anyone please help me? I just bought Blitzmax, but when installing MingW, it stops the installation half the way, and give me this error:

does anyone knows how to fix this? I've already tried deleting all .gz files and downloading them again, but the installer allways gives this error, no matter what :(

Not sure, but I don't think I've ever got MinGW to install in fewer than half a dozen attempts. It really is an atrocity.

Can't suggest anything other than keep trying. :/

nevermind, I just downloaded that .tar.gz from another source (here) and it worked... now to do the extra steps needed to get it working on Vista...
