Shoot em up Construction Kit for PC?

I remember that SHOOT EM UP CONSTRUCTION KIT release on C64 and Amiga but did they release it on pc as well?

There is a recent clone for the PC, but I won't post a link since it was done with a competing product to BRL.

A remake of SEUCK was entered in the Retro Remakes competition:

The title SEUCK on that page is a link to the zip file.

SEUCK is where the term "this sucks" came from.

instead of remaking seuck in clone format they could have spent more time and effort sketching out a feature ritch version

but i think the days of drag and drop game making are gone, 3dgame maker tried and failed in this respect (unless you were a child with little to no asperations)

all you have to do is code a horizontal and a vertical tile map system and tweak it for the 8 way scrollers, but i cant see a market unless you have a tonne of kick arse 2d gfx available (even 3d ships rendered as an animstrip

I remember SEUCK on C64 and Amiga. It was fun in any way but also limited which frustrated me. Was thinking about making one of these just recently.

Seuck was never converted for the PC, apart from the Retroremakes mention made a few posts ago.

There is a good free tool which was inspired by game editors such a Click 'n' Create, and Seuck was in this league too, which was very promising when I tried it more than a year ago (in fact, it had a more mature interface then Click 'n' Create/Games Factory/Digital Fusion while maintining their simplicity, and the underlying framework is up to date with current technologies too). Now it should be even better.

Yeah, the idea crossed my mind quite a few times as well, problem is that a polished game maker even if limited to a few genres would require quite a lot of time both in designing and actual programming of the interface.

Unfortunately I don't see a "try before you buy"

Oh my, and I have just said it didn't exist on the PC.

Is that the official one? The logo looks similar to the original box art, which however was developed by Sensible Software/Codemasters. Maybe someone bought the trademark?

Anyway, the site looks quite dead: the screenshots point to a 404 error.
The payment e-mail instead is related to both an independent filmmaker studio and a budget game distributor (there are even some oooold Guildhall Leisures releases in there!).

I remember playing with SEUCK in the past on my Amiga, got it on a floppy with one of those Amiga magazines.
Was great fun. There where a lot of nice shoot em ups created with that one, the only downside was when you wanted to create a boss or some kind of ending for your game.

Hmmm, doesn't look half bad.
Of course I'd only use it as reference and have the pleasure of using a GUI and Blitz3D to make an improved clone of the application all by myself!

I did like the "enemy pathing" tool:

the only downside was when you wanted to create a boss

Eheh, you just reminded me all those bosses made up of independent objects tied in the same path, so that they *looked* like a single enemy, at least until you destroyed its blocks one by one! :D

If you were clever though, you could slightly overlap the pieces that would get hit first, and draw the back pieces with damage at the edges, so when the front piece got destroyed, it looked a bit better :o)

Oh and i LOVED SEUCK. T'was brilliant.

I always liked this one too.

As simple as it was, it was more fun than many new games.
Maybe it was just because it was a first.
