I am 300 miles away from this 'gig' that is playing - anyways an old school mate of mine is playing in a band - the starry wisdom cult at 2300 GMT.... check it out. There isn't a band on just now, there was a few minutes ago though.

Neat. I saw the last two songs. They reminded me more of Sabbath, they had a looser bluesier feel than old skool Metallica imho (but I didn't hear any of the earlier songs). They had a good sound balance (you could hear the bass and the lead). The lead guitarist could do with a bit more pizazz (and vibrato). But yeah, cool band.
They were a bit heavier than I was used to - the heaviest stuff I was into was Maiden/Priest/ sorta stuff. Although I went to an Anthrax gig in desperation a couple of years back - it was Monday night in london town...
Was still pretty cool to see an old school mate at a gig in Edinburgh on the drum!.

My neighbour is related to one of Judas Priest. I think its Glenn Tipton but not 100% on that.
i missed the gig, but last year new model army played cambridge and my brother asked me to go so i could shout out hi to one of his mates marshal whos now in the band
not too sure if i missed anything mind ;)
fyi marshal is the bald zztop length bearded guy though last i looked the head/facial hair ratio was the other way round
and i was once on stage with ken dodd o.O
