I've added a small discount

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/I've added a small discount

Buzzword (Blitzmax game, relevant, see? :) has been on sale for nearly two years now and I've decided with the recent goings on over at Reflexive, now is the right time to cut the price down - an 'experiment' I've wanted to try for a number of years now.

You can now get Buzzword from BMT Micro for just $2.95, which is pretty much what you would have paid for a game over two decades ago. Runs on everything from Windows98SE upwards.

Here's a link to the product page.

Note: This is a permanent price cut. If you're feeling charitable/insane, you can get it for $6.99 from my website. I get slightly more royalties that way.

Cheap as chips.

I've bought it from your website. Hate seeing people losing cash for their hard work :o)

*Plus i liked what i saw last time i played the demo. Although, with tax, it's like $8 odd :o)

Bought. Thank you for the great game. Excellent value @ $2.95!

Sounds like a Mastertronic price.

Around Christmas I was thinking I need to adjust my prices just because of the recent crazy changes to currency exchange rates. However, now with the Amazon thing I might just drop them all.

Sounds like a Mastertronic price.
That was my logic behind it. In the 80s you'd happily buy games at that price all day long. I don't recall ever feeling ripped off with a two quid game. Some of the best 8-bit games were the cheap Mastertronic ones.

I'd love to have the balls to try the same price point with a brand new game.

I took a look at BMT micro and i'm wondering how the consumers are going to find your game there. Is it up to you to put links to your game on BMT on websites?

Also, yeah, $3 is a good price. I just don't pay $15 or $20 for a small (casual) game. But i wonder if people even want to pay anything for small games like this. There are free flash games in every genre widely available. In my country (the Netherlands) i don't think so (which i do find a shame). I hope you will tell us the effect of this price change in a few weeks.

Yeah BMT are pretty much a payment processor. You're largely responsible for your own advertising although they do have a catalogue, but it takes some finding.

OOH it got pay pal, that is nice and fastest way to pay!
Good Cheap games there such as Strategy Games and Shooter Games which what I like :)

some mastertronic games were better than the £9.99 ones ;)
but they (budget games in general) were also home to alot of shoveled out dross too :(

How is it possible to be selling your game through a payment processor for that price?

About 10 years ago I was selling a couple of games using RegSoft as my payment processor and their service fee was $3.00 or 10 percent, whichever was more.

At $2.95 I would have owed them a nickle on every sale.

How much does BMT charge?

BMT charge $1.25/unit for the tier I'm on.
