Alex Amsel from Tunasnax has posted some screenshots, and more excitingly, some video of the game in action.

...and wait til you see this - Videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/tunasnax

(note there are TWO videos!)

I'd kill to be involved on a 'proper' game again.

[edit] Oh; it's not being written in Blitz any more, but still, definitely worth a look.

least on the longer video they say its from the blitz version :)

and lol @ 'pretend this didnt happen' on the lighting one

I like how it's in actual 3D now, so the depth is not just in parallax. Very impressive. Buying it the day it comes out.

the voice acting in that prototype video is PERFECT.

Nominated for 'excellence in visual art' by IGF

And rightly so

I love Cletus' cheesy comments
Also the idea that Cletus and his cousin don't see eye to eye
Sounds fun!

Dang it, can't wait for it to be released, I hope it's a smash, looks lots of fun.

Come on Anthony, get it out the door!

Darkheart

This looks really amazing! The improvements from Bert the Barbarian to Playtpus to Cletus Clay are amazing!

ZOMG how much better does that look when it's moving?

Wow.

...and I love that prototype. Good ole Blitz... *wipes silent tear from eye*

I hope team Cletus are enjoying themselves.. I wonder if Mr. Flack is just doing the art now.

Thanks all!

markcw - I'm responsible for the art (along with assistant modeler Sarah), the game design, the music, and most of the level construction and scripting. Alex, Ken, Mark and Pete at Tuna are the main programmers. They're doing some amazing things; hopefully we'll be able to show off some much more impressive videos from the new game engine soon. I love the dynamic shadows especially.

The new 3d graphics were also originally prototyped in Blitz3d and some of the data in the game comes from Blitz tools that I wrote. I'm also using Blitz to prototype some of the minigames that will appear in the finished game. I like programming in Blitz.

Whoa... nice one man. That's look excellent. Well done to you and your team!

Cool, I'd like to see *more* though ;-)

There'll be more videos coming soon I expect.

Did anyone else notice that the lights that are behind the character lit him from the front and also cast a shadow in the wrong direction. I guess that's what lighting tests are for :)

Sorry if I misseed it but will there still be a PC version? I hope so as I`ve been waiting for this for ages with much anticipation.

Looking very good Anthony, great work. Can`t wait to play! Love your style.

Jason.

Looks fun and polished. I haven't seen many games like this, not at least since the early 90s on the older nintendo consoles.

I like it too. It looks really nice to me, mostly good colours, cute characters and nice objects.

Two things i came across, at least in the videos, were a) some objetcs don't look after clay anymore, a confusing style between clay and computer and b) that the animations aren't fluent.

I also once experimented with getting clay made figures on the screen. The idea came up whilst claying with my daughter but at least with the quick shot i gave it it was a) a problem of proper lightining that it looks like clay in the end and b) that it takes quite some time and model skills as well getting proper figures done. Also some of my figures weren't meant to last whilst i tried to animate them. I guess if you do it properly you need some internal skeleton like structure.

Are they any other clay looking games around yet? The only other one i have in mind would be Wallace & Grommit from TTG ( http://www.telltalegames.com/wallaceandgromit ). I also remember one or two console games but i don't know if they skipped them, are still in development or have been released already.

Wish you good luck for the IGF, there are quite some good looking games around this year. With such a variety it makes a lot of fun looking at video games again.
