Just completed Mirrors Edge

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Just completed Mirrors Edge

Finished it late last night. It was okay, I found my head moving around as the character jumped and dashed about (play it to know what I mean). Can't say I was too pleased with the ending, felt unfinished, like the story should have carried on afterwards.

Not sure whether I'll bother with the time trials or just sell it on. Maybe go for a few achievments first.

Is it basically base jumping in a cyber reality?

The advertising for it left a lot to be desired. After seeing the same old crappy commercial over and over again I vowed never to play the game....

Essentially base jumping and fighting, probably mostly scripted scenes. I'm sure the reflections are what the game is based around......

Not surprised, Mirror's Edge is supposedly a trilogy, with the next release to have a level editor (!!).

I got the xbox version for christmas.
I really really could have done with more peripheral vision, and no stupid police! Rock Paper Shotgun had it right - Mirror's Edge is a racing game that can't admit the fact.

You're probably doing yourself a huge disservice by not giving time trials a go. After I finished Mirror's Edge I thought the game was 'meh' at best. The single player campaign had a bunch of highs and lows in terms of fun (namely combat was always painful). But I gave time trials a run a few days ago, and its suddenly clear what Mirror's Edge was meant to be: a racing game. And a good one at that. It was hard to put it down after a few levels of time trials.

I've bought the PC version but it won't even run - judging from the forums I'm having the same problem as lots of other people where it just crashes on the startup window.

Another quality EA product...release bugged shite, them patch it sometime in the future if you can be bothered.

I had that problem too, try this: Copy 'Mirrors Edge\Binaries\PhysXLocal\PhysXLoader.dll' into 'Mirrors Edge\Binaries\'. If that doesn't work, try installing PhysX from NVidia.

Blah! Bad ending..
Time trials aren't bad though.

I think you can use the Unreal Tournament 3 editor on Mirror's Edge (same engine).

I think you're confusing base jumping with free running.

That's the one
