Keyboard made obsolete: http://www.theonion.com/content/video/apple_introduces_revolutionary

I'm not convinced...

That looks almost as slow to type with as texting...
*edit*

this is a urine take right?

19 minute battery life?

Haha..

Lol are they serious? Must be a joke right?

"I'll buy almost anything that's shiny and made by Apple."

This look even slower than texting on a mobile phone, and massively frustrating to use
Would have been better to keep the keyboard and use the wheel as a replacement for the trackpad
But hey, it's Apple ... therefore it's trendy, expensive by default, and a must have for every being ever
And wow .. 19 minutes of usage .. thankyou Apple, we are not worthy!

I can see it now ...

it might not catch on in the business world where people use a computer for actual work and not just d**king around

the "ill buy anything by apple as long as its shiny guy" spent 45 minutes typing an email

im pretty sure the onion is about urine extraction theve just gone all cnn about it :D

if and thats a big if something like this was to catch on having it scroll around a qwerty layout alphabetically would be stupid
a wheel representation like in the old arcade games would be better
but come on we know touch screens would kill the keyboard on laptops (even a DS type with gfx keyboard like the one we talked about months ago)

edit:
and i really hate the wheel on my ipod (novel for the breakout game but a pain for solitair)
id much rather have a down button instead of spinning it around
some times it spins slowly from a-where i want to be, others it zooms off with the big letters and i over skip the letter i want by 5 and then it sludges back
i only got it cos it was the only mp3 player i could find in stores that used a hard drive (as a hard drive too)

"Everything is just a few hundred clicks away."

lol.

for 10 seconds I believed Apple created this crap?...LOL

I'm torn. Does this work best as a joke at the expense of Apple haters who are so quick to dismiss anything Apple as spangly and useless, of Apple lovers who are so quick to praise anything Apple as spangly and wonderful, or of Apple, on the basis that they create such spangly useless crap that this really is believable? I can't decide.

ive yet to click the wow player able to play wow in wow video ;)

It's The Onion!

Darn, missed pointing out is was the onion by one post.

My favorite headline from there was "Hero man dials 911 and saves family"

On a side note, I didn't know The Onion had a TG!

ive yet to click the wow player able to play wow in wow video ;)

I loved the ending of this one:
Voting Machines Elect One Of Their Own As President

And the Computer is virtually unbreakable unless dropped or hit

hahahah!

Dudes, theonion.com is the site of The Onion newspaper, which is basically a piss-take sarcastic newspaper with made up news. It's a joke. You probably wouldn't have heard of it if you don't live in the USA.

Really? It's a joke, and not at all based on a very, very, very, very slight exageration of Apple products?

Very hilarious, I'm showing this to all my friends that love mac "Because it looks cool and doesn't get viruses." Pah.

Its funny cos its mostly the truth just taken to extremes.

Can I suggest this as well:
http://antivirus.about.com/od/macintoshresource/Macintosh_Viruses_and_Mac_Virus_Resources.htm

..while I do like macs, this looks like really big piece of crap..45 minutes for writing an email?? And as i was able to see from this video, its actually pain in the ass to use this thing in comparison with keyboard..

Yeah it was a great video! Some others on there are also making me lol.

My brother's favorite: http://www.theonion.com/content/video/army_holds_annual_bring_your

My niece doesn't like it as much, though...

While this is a joke, it's sad that many other things are not jokes. Such as:

- shiny two-color reflection effect buttons made of wet glass
- microscopic buttons on phones that almost require you to cut your nails in pointy shapes
- games on small touch screens that are supposed to be fun, but there are huge fingers in front so we can't see
- 12 year old girls on the bus telling each other how 8 GB on a phone or something is "nothing" these days (almost true story, maybe they were older than 12)

There, I got this list of small annoyances of my chest. ;)

About the video, it could be a good input device in a music mixing game.

And I also have a scary thought that if you'd give this to a 10 year old child he or she would probably be typing messages at high speed with it after 10 minutes. ;)

Sometimes I get a text message on my phone.. I then spend about 20 minutes replying, even when I pick the shortest answer possible. And the answer never features any kind of punctuation as I never know where those characters are hidden. (And if I try to find them I end up deleting the whole message.)

So for example someone sends me a nice new year message "Hello Robbert, blah blah.. la la la.. Best wishes, Fred." and then I answer "same to you robbert".

> 12 year old girls on the bus telling each other how 8 GB on a phone or something is "nothing" these days

I still remember my friend saying "48K, what would you ever need it for?"
As time goes by it's only the letter that changes (K, M, G, ...)

I still can't fill up more than 20 Gb on my computer, I don't know how people do it.

I guess if you don't use your computer for music or pic storage (as I don't) then you really don't need that much, people just can't seem to imagine music that doesn't come out of a ear bud headphones or tinny laptop speakers anymore.

Try video editing, then you'll be burning through hard drives in no time...

Install Lost Planet and GTA IV. :)

True... the strain on the drive is really heavy too.

What the hell? There are still people out there that haven't heard of The
Onion? They've been writing articles and filming hilarious videos like this
since 1998.

LOL!!!

Reminds me of vista voice recog (although that wasnt a joke :).
