Grey Alien's Site Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

Hi All,

Just got up this morning and was doing my normal web crawl, starting with Blitz site, then Grey Alien's Forums... but when I go to GA's site it got a 509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded...

When I first opened up my site I choose 25GB monthly bandwidth plan and MGE pointed out it might not be enough... and he was right... when I released Haunted House Quest I quickly found out it wasn't! I upgraded by plan to 75GB and thats been heaps...

So what bandwidth limits do others have?

Mine's only 8GB but I don't host any binaries there, plus I don't even have a site right now.

Haunted House Quest was downloaded 2500 times in one month? Just where did you advertise it?

I do have 150 GB a month.

2500 downloads a month is nothing impressive for a game. I do get from 800 (2 years old game) to 4000 a month (2008 game) without any advertising for couple of months (apple.com helps a lot).

Youch, OK thanks for the heads up. Was working yesterday. I need to email someone to get a temporary boost for the next few days as it'll reset in Jan.

Not quite ;-) But ppl were also downloading Gunslinger Solitaire after I released HHQ...

yeah yeah rub it in ;-p There's nothing I can do right now. Annoying as I'm loosing sales. The moral of the story is never scrimp on bandwidth especially in the holiday season!

My servers routinely burn 50+Mbits/s. My "limit" is two 100Mbit pipes.

Certainly, now that he lives in a big Canadian city, he gets a lot more people looking at him on any given day. Too many and he becomes invisible, replaced by a big white sign telling people why his visibility has become unavailable.

No, just minor monetary limits. ;)

I think for my site the limit is 3 GB per month. It was exceeded once when a popular site featured a direct link to one of my games. They removed it after I complained, problem solved. ;) Normally I see a bandwidth use of about 500 MB per month. Maybe the number will go up again when I add a new game...

My limit is about 10GB a month, but with so many downloads I have because of TrackMania cars I'm sharing I needed to set up a server at my home (I have no download/uploadlimit there) with links from the website to handle the traffic. XD

People are downloading about 30GB from my server every month. And on my official website I still have 3GB of traffic in total each month.

go to www.dedicatedservices.org and then go in the main menu to TrackMania->TrackMania cars and select a carbrand on the left.

After that you get to see some cars of the chosen brand which can be downloaded with only one click.

Still need to update the list with more cars, but have no time lately :-p

You can also find my website by only typing "trackmania cars" in google, I should be on place 4 ore so now :-)
