Classic 90s marketing for Amiga product

It's a sound sample so I doubt it got that hot. Yeah I wondered if an earlier version had a huge PCB and they had tons of cases made and had to use them all up. But I suspect it was crappy marketing :-)

I doubt it. At a time when electronics was shrinking rapidly, a compact unit, giving the impression of advanced technology, would probably have been far more effective. That case looks very generic to me, so it was probably more about cost/sourcing than anything else.

Probably a hard concept for you to grasp, but not everything is about flimflam you know. ;op

I am thinking that they might just have used whatever box they could get cheap instead of having to get something custom made. But yeah, regardless its a waste of space, but I am sure some people were impressed by the size. :)

Not only the 90s brew such a waste of material and space.

The reason was not marketing, but that the sampler was using a cheap generic case. I remember seing several different products like that, and also buying a few generic cases for my own electronics project. It's like the generic cartridge cases of the C64 that were cheap and used to be everywhere.

I almost cringe by the thought of my Amiga electronics projects. Had any of them ever been finished they would likely have set the entire house on fire. Good thing I lost interest.

Well I guess cheap generic case is another possibility. Shame as it destroys my vision of some exec going "and we'll have this huge case that nobody will know contains virtually nothing and they'll think it's full of complex trickery and thus great value for money".
