No character shadows, looks too ugly to even consider trying it.

Hmm, you seem to be more a Dreamworks guy. I'm glad i gave Ultima IX a chance although it really missed some heavy SM3 reflection/refration on the water.

Never met the guy. The mid-series Ultima games were okay for the time, though.


I think that my dog would be jealous if I owned a free Richard Garriot. I don't think that Richard Garriot would be too pleased either!

Richard Garriott is awesome.. Never followed Tabula Rasa though.

The "that's just so we know who you are" is the exact part which scares the hell out of me... I already picture millions of users giving their card numbers for a free play and Garriott departing for a little uncharted island in the pacific! ;)



Edit: and, uhm, I'm not serious, before anyone replies about NCSoft's reliability...

In WAR they kept charging customers, even after they closed their accounts. It was some fine printed sentence in the EULA which allowed them to keep charging even if people didn't play it anymore.

I'd really like to, but they're all mostly crap.

I don't know him, but I'm not a huge fan of his MMOs. To put it lightly.

No thank you. I used to have a proper account, and I really wouldn't want to play it anymore, even for free. It's a pretty good game initially, but you quickly run out of new and interesting things to do, then the grind hits you like a freight train.

Well, i also don't like MMOs at all but i found it interesting having a look at what Garriot was working on and having to look at the art this way. Sadly all this efforts weren't invested in a single player rpg instead but maybe next time.

Well, somehow fits as the avatar in Ultima IX also went to space. :O)

Never played one. The Ultima series was great though, not forgetting the Underworld games too.
