I'm getting an apple and an orange and thinking myself lucky, apparently. Oh, and a piece of coal for the fire... although I'll probably have to balance it carefully on top of a radiator or something.
I'd like a sat nav to stop me from getting lost everywhere I go.

But with all the problems that OpenPandora have been having, that aint gonna happen :(
A 3KWatt invertor for the car from maplins, three networked xbox 360s mounted alongside it in the boot, three 22 inch monitors mounted in parallel in front of the three back seats in the back of the car.
All of a sudden a 3 hour journey in the car seems an altogether more appealing concept.
Oh yeah, three gucci sets of headphones that would plug in behing the head rests to audio feeds from each xbox. Oh yeah, I might need a second 3KWatt invertor and a second alternator to produce the necessary trons.
No offense, but the Pandora looks ridiculous and I bet you £1 it will never catch on. I'd love it if some of these more open devices did catch on, (only if they were actually any good), but I suspect it will never happen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for google phones.
What would I like for xmas? Either an iPod touch or an [unlocked] google phone.

No offense taken Beaker. I hated the look of it too when I first saw it. It's the ideas behind it that interest me though, not the look of it. That is a very early render too - hopefully the real deal won't look quite so pig ugly, but rather be a very useful way of playing homebrew, emulators as well as media. :)
I don't expect it to ever become a mass market product, but I own two GP2Xs too, so I'm not exactly mass-market myself. But it looks as though it will suit my needs perfectly - which is the question the OP asked - "What gadget would you like for Christmas?"
I quite fancied a GP2X, but my kids have had just about every incarnation of nintendos hand helds.

A decent GPS. Didn't realize how handy those were until a friend of mine let me play around with his while driving around the city the other day.
(I almost always have to bust out Google Map ahead of time when needing to head to a specific location for the first time)
Would rather pay a one-off fee for a decent GPS than say, use the shite one built-in to my phone that my provider would want to charge me monthly for.
A MIDI controller... and a condenser mic to go with it.
Then maybe I can start doing game music along with my other musical ventures. I'd be much better at that than anything else anyway... plus I feel like there is a demand for it.

tomtom seem to be the best, cheap as hell but always reliable.

I'm wanting a cheap tablet PC for viewing PDF files. Most Role Playing Games are going to PDF publishing these days (what used to be the Pen and Paper variety that is)

You should add a mic preamp with phantom power. Additionally, if you get a behringer or the like, don't expect it to sound well, they're really bad built, incredible wrong freq. response and the like... go for a Rode or AKG mic if you want to enjoy your recordings :D

Tbh, I co-direct the company with three friends, and we have six additional employees. We get to decide what to buy everyone, including ourselves. Last year we all had a 16Gb iPod Touch (we were a smaller company then though). We profit share too, at the end of every fiscal year.
