I don't think the exploit is particularly dangerous unless you visit Pron sites ..... ah ah .. Now I can see why *so many people* are at risk(!)

Rick Ferguson at Trend Micro told the BBC, "If users can find an alternative browser, then that's good mitigation against the threat."
Strangely enough, Microsoft responded with the quote deps used. They would prefer the uneducated masses would continue to use their broken browser, despite the fact they don't currently know how to fix it and despite the fact that the hackers were onto it before this news even hit.
Are they that afraid that people trying a new browser will never come back? Maybe if even MS don't believe in their own product, I should stop using it after all...

People should make sure their anti-virus software up to date, and remember to install Microsoft’s security patch when it is released.
If it's unfixable there would be no possibility of a patch would there.

No!! - 7 out of 10 PC owners are using IE so surely it is worth highlighting potential security threats right ???????!!!!!!
Perhaps next time we should all keep our heads in the sand and pretend everything is perfect. Just because it is a MS product does not mean we all must bow down and worship it. I don't particularly care if you think this thread is an attack on MS directly. It is a 'heads up' on a security threat. Does not get any easier than that

And I thought it might be something new about IE...looks like nothing has changed since the first version in this aspect.
hmmm interesting thread i resortd to using IE6 v2900 on my creaky wireless laptop in the living room -was having a job stopping mozilla popping up trying to dial every minute or so.

Am now trying out opera instead of mozilla on my main computer - I'm quite impressed doesn't seem as slow as mozilla.

Don't forget the google browser is also an alternative now.
