in german, but i hope you understand. ;)

bye

I didn't get that until I'd read it through about 6 times. :)

True though. We were a lot easier to please 24 years ago.

And we have had more fun with 28kb then today with 3.8Gb!

Yeah.. they were the good old days... When men were men and having a floppy was posh! :)

i think the best games were made 1991-1999 for the PC
no tape loading, enough RAM for a decent experience , good 2D graphics,

64K games were made hard because there was a lack of RAM to make a decent game

lol

most of the first PC games was only remakes or ports of C64/Amiga and Apple II games! games like Boulderdash,Paradroid,Fort Apokalypse,Blue Max, and even "Rise of the Dragon" has build genres bevor the PC was (from the technical side) able to do it.

yup agreed, I still play games on emulation waaay longer than any remakes or new titles.

The same goes for anyone starting hobby game development - back then it was enough to make a text adventure as your first game while now everyone wants their first attempt to be like doom3 (or substitute other fancy looking tech demo/game)

Ah the good old days.... I even recall being captivated by the way the cursor blinked.

I agree 100%.

Bum2 reminds me of the c64 game Fungus, but in Fungus you had to collect mushrooms. ;)

>>i think the best games were made 1991-1999 for the PC<<

brutally true

i think the best games were made 1991-1999 for the PC

Well it would seem that the majority of "those in the know" don't believe that - http://www.edge-online.com/magazine/edges-top-100-games-of-all-time?page=0%2C9

;)

Only one pc title amongst the top 10 and not too many pc exclusice titles overall amongst the top 100.

The GamesTM top 100 list was pretty similar...

Doesn't prove anything mind you :P

i think the best games were made 1991-1999 for the PC

That probably means "The best PC games were made in 1991-1999."

We have a lot of non-native English speakers here. Naughty Alien's profile says he is from Germany, although I suspect his name may not really be Otto von Bismarck.
