So he makes a load of wrestling games, then goes out by writing a religious RPG game based on the world of the new testament. Is he retiring to become a priest?

I never did find any of his games enjoyable, however, i respect the sheer amount of games he's done.

I actually think that people who try to push religion onto children in this way are pretty despicable. It's underhand and sneaky, and it takes advantage of children's ignorance and their relative lack of critical faculties.

It's like: "Hey kids! You trust me right? Sure you do! You liked my wrestling games? Absolutely! Well, now Uncle MDicke wants to tell you something really important about a man named Jesus Christ..."

Tell me one bad thing about Jesus? What's your problem? What bad things can kids learn using him as an example?

As apposed to pushing Science and it's ever mysterious equations that rely on an imaginary particle called a Higgs Boson to tell us all that everything is real and has mass. Ok Buddy.

It's not just religion is it but everything really. Father Christmass, the tooth fairy etc.

If you're going to try and say that people are taking advantage of childrens ignorance then apply it to everything and not just your dislike for religion.

I tried it, you don't play jesus, you play as a new disciple, not one of the 12. I got put in prison after two minutes, for just sitting down, some roman guard kicked the crap out of me and arrested me for insurrection. I couldn't get out of prison so I quit and didn't play it again.

I was beating the crap out of Jesus before I knew who he was, even gave him a bloodied eye.

This is definatly MDickie's funniest game, "Rock'n'Wrestle with Jesus", I'm seriously considering buying it for the comedy value. MDickie seems to have combined his rather strange personal philiosphy with and freely adapted chunks of the new testement with it. The results are rather strange but I think this could either be a lawsuit or a blockbuster coming down the track.

I think I will write to him and see if I can persuade him to do just one more game based on the Koran...

Yeah, it's like a mix of religions, "integrated" into the story of Jesus. For this reason, I strongly doubt it's going to be popular among Christians, and at the same time I doubt a game that appears so Bible oriented is going to appeal to anyone else very much (aside from the "comedy value" you mentioned).

I do apply it to everything. For example, I'd have a huge problem with any scientist who "encouraged" a child with threats of suffering to unquestioningly accept his theories as absolute truths, but this topic is not about any of these things - it is about MDickie retiring after producing a game for kids that is intended to promote his religious beliefs.


I don't like the guy? Really? I've never met him, Amon. I don't like his actions in this particular case for what I consider to be good reasons. And wishing children to grow up to be non-brainwashed, non-superstitious, inquisitive, logical, intelligent people is hardly a selfish motivation.

I've found both sides equally capable of telling the other to be quite.

True, that's the way science should work, but unfortunately that's not always the way it is. Scientists have often been known to have almost religious devotion to well-established theories, afraid of having their entire "scientific" foundation overturned. One example would be Einstein's theory of general relativity vs. Newtonian physics.

The point isn't though that religions don't involve blind faith (they do, and that's a fact), but that unfortunately some teachings of "science" can be just as much an "indoctrination".

As for how I worked it out, well, that's evident imo.

A science example:

Years and years of scientific data showing that we are in a state of Global warming and that temeratures will continue to increase... a couple of weeks ago though they change their mind and tell us we're actually heading for an ice age.

I could go on and on about both of them.
