Running BBasic 2.1 within WINUAE

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Running BBasic 2.1 within WINUAE

A long shot I know, I can run executables compiled on my real Amiga 1200 within WINUAE. Just so everyone is clear - this is an old Amiga product I'm trying to run - not assocaited at all with BRL's current products. I quickly tried AmiBlitz3.1 but could not install it within WINUAE.

It is great having so much real estate, desktop workspace for my virtual amiga within WINUAE. For some reason though, when I try to use Blitz to view my BB2 files there is no text just variable smudges down the left hand side of the IDE.

Anyone else experienced this and know why?

Needs to be run in a native screenmode, I'd wager.

Cheers vinyl will try that....

Yep that worked, thanks vinyl. Am compiling within BBasic 2.1 code from my Amigas hard drive... that is getting a bit wobbly.

I've got bother with BBasic struggling to find blitzlibs, so I'm resigning myself to compiling on my Amiga & then checking to see if the executables run within WINUAE. I'm still impressed I can run BBasic 2.1 compiled executables on the PC within WINUAE.

The biggest bugbear of any full WinUAE setup I've done is finding decent (versions of) libs. Then lzx, DOpus 4, SnoopDOS and all the other little utils that are utterly essential to the smooth operation of a Workbench installation.

I usually end up downloading the full collection of Amiga applications (i.e., the TOSEC collection).

Once up and running, it amazes me how productive my old Amiga configuration used to be. Just navigating Windows Explorer is a 10X slow-down from similar operations on the Amiga.

Of to google the TOSEC collection......
