Still life in Blitz3D yet

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Still life in Blitz3D yet

I've been uploading simple Blitz tutorials on youtube for the last six months. I've had over 20,000 views, and now have 115 subscribers. I've so far only covered simple 2D graphics and not even touched on complex subjects yet like 3D. Quite a few of the subscribers use BlitzPlus, so I'm thinking of doing a few videos on how to use the GUI parts of BlitzPlus as well as doing some 3D tutorials for Blitz3D.

have you considered writing a book?
the more the merrier id say in this regards
atleast it would be the first since kyrlars written by someone known in the community
(ok i dont remember who wrote 3d games for teens)

Maneesh Sethi wrote it.

no he wrote games programming for teens
two different books

and unless hes had alot of posts deleted hes only ever posted regarding his book and ive always wondered what a mainstay blitzer's book would be like
coders with games out in the wild eg gfk and grey alien spring to mind

edit:
Eric D. Grebler, dont know the name, but perhaps id know his blitzer name ...

I think it was the Hat argument that canned that one ;-)

I started writing a games programming book last year but it ended up on hiatus to make way for various other things.

I'd like to see a book written by a pro too, my tutorials are kind of just what I know, I've not done anything that's been published so my coding style could probably use a lot of work, but it get's the job done so no harm.

according to amazon Maneesh has also written a "3d games programming for teens" dont his publishers know they already have a book out by the same title?
or has he taken over the 2nd/whatever edition

do you use any of the physics engines associated with Blitz3D - they simplify things a bit.

To be honest andy, i think your tuts are great. I find i know most of the stuff your teaching, but if i was learning it, it would have really helped. You can't really beat video tuts, as you see what is supposed to really happen with the code you put in. Top stuff.

Thanks Ross, I get a lot of messages off people thanking me for making them, and even a few off people who buy blitz on the strength of my videos. Where's my commision cheque Mark?

Once upon a time I was making tentative plans with someone else to write a Blitz3D book. Man, I don't even remember who Jeff Houck is anymore, that was the guy I was working with.
