Github - WarpyCode unedited!

It occurred to me recently that I don't have a backup of my blitz code anywhere. I've already lost all of my old bb2d and darkbasic stuff a few years ago, so I should make sure it doesn't happen again.

So, I've made a git repository on github.com. My brother's big into github, and it seems like a pretty useful way of storing your development files.

I'm too cheap to pay for a private repository, so it's totally public, and I think you can look at it or even download it all at http://github.com/christianp/warpycode/. I haven't added any media files because there's a 100mb limit on github, but I might sort something out.

Is anyone else doing anything else like this? It might be useful to have lots of free code floating about.

A git repository does sound like something I should have, but I already have two hard drives for on-site backup and a flash drive and dvd's for off-site backups. I can see the point of the open ones, but not really convinced on private repositories unless there's more than one programmer on a given project.

My hosting allows me to create a web disk, in cPanel... which is nice.

Drag and drop files to/from my offsite webspace.

Yeah good idea I just lost everything in a hard drive malfunction so this really hits close to home with me.
