svn?

i was wondering if setting up an svn would slow don my site and if multiple up/downloads would cause any noticeable slow downs and how practical it would be for a small community project?

That completely depends on the server and/or bandwidth you have available -- on a good server with a ton of bandwidth it would be virtually unnoticable, on a crappy server or low bandwidth connection it may be torture.

I am sorry for making this question here but I think it is the right time: what is svn?

subversion, its a file setup "style" for use on server/websites and it allows easier updates and access to the updates by the end user. blitzmax's bleeding edge updates are done with one of these if i'm not mistaken, which i could be cause i don't use it.

svn has changed the way I work, and syncronise, and backup. 2 clicks, all done.

I setup mineon dreamhost, just a few clicks and away it went

I just wish the blitz IDE was as integrated as say eclipse/aptana
