ebay advice

Hi, I'm in the process of selling a Canon lens on ebay.

A guy from Denmark bought it.

He has sent me payment via paypal into my paypal account.

I'm a bit para about sending off the lens to him incase he can cancel the payment, or something.

He has already left me +ve feedback and the details on my paypal account say 'completed'.

Is everything correct or should I transfer it to my bank account to be extra sure.

I'm sure I'm just para but advice would be appreciated.

it should be covered by paypal protection shouldn't it?

If he hasn't done anything wrong, why so paranoid?

If its just because he's paid what I assume to be a fair amount of money for the lens, is that why you're worried? Or because he's in Denmark? Or what?

What did you expect to happen when you put it for sale on eBay?

Unless it's an e-Check, there's no way to retract the payment once completed unless they go through with filing a complaint, and even then I've never been forced to refund the money unless I chose to.

I've been selling things on Ebay for sometime, and as long as the guy
has good feedback there's no reason to worry.

And I agree with Pertubatio,GFK, And Eikon.

They all have a very valid point.

It was a UK only auction & I had accepted his offer then realized he was from Denmark - a bit cheeky!

That being the case, I probably wouldn't send it, TBH.

If you're going to, I'd suggest finding an uber-secure courier that provides an insurance service - that way you're covered from all angles if it gets 'lost', plus they'll likely be able to track the package so you know where it is at all times, and when its been delivered and signed for.

Since the buyer chose to bid on a UK only auction, you can pass the cost of delivery onto him, however much it is.

Really? I think they need to come around here more often then, because the one we have around here is rubbish.

But yeah. I wouldn't trust those Danes either. When those blue eyes sail out from the North, you better nail everything down, because if it isn't nailed down, they'll take it, and if they can pry it loose, it wasn't nailed down, and if they can't pry it loose, they'll burn it to the ground.

But yeah, just send it UPS or something.

Can't surely be worse than the UK post service? Christ, i've notice alot of companies, like City Link, doing mail delivery now. UPS is a good idea.

I ordered about 20 CDs recently from ebay and only 18 arrived. That's a 10% failure rate. Oh and I'm in the UK.

i think it was parcel line we used when i was building pc's for slave labour, one guy's box was 'dropped' infront of the customer by the delivery guy making a broken plastic sound and then said "sign here mate"

Hey, delivery guy did that for me here in Aus, too. Lovely work those guys do.
