Maplet installation

When i install Maplet i see this warning message and the installation doesn't conclude. I have installed the Avast antivirus.

16/10/2008 22:09:17 1224191357 Usuario 1892 Sign of "Win32:SkiMorph [Cryp]" has been found in "F:\Programas\Maplet\Maplet.exe" file.

The problem is that i cannot install Maplet and avast cannot repair Maplet.exe; would there be some solution without me to have that uninstall my antivirus?

Going to stick my neck out and say that its most likely a false positive.

I'd suggest getting rid of Avast since false positives are its party piece. Get something good, like NOD if you don't mind paying, or AVG if you do.

Are you sure that Avast is wrong on that ? Maybe somehow your version of Maplet got infected ?

Try redownloading maplet. If it still comes up with the same message, that means that it is very likely wrong.

Yes, i have downloaded it two times and i always see that warning message if i try to install MapletSetup101.

I stopped the avast access protection to be able to install maplet, and now i made an scan to Maplet.exe with SuperAntispyware and it didn't detect anything.

Scanning is complete. No harmful software has detected!

Now i also think that it is a false positive or a positive one without importance.

Win32:SkiMorph can probably be triggered by a lot of things other than Maplet.

I have never used Avast, so not sure how to help.

A virus checker should not wear the trousers - ie, if YOU want to run or install something then you should be able to.

However, re-downloading Maplet is best.

If the new download version triggers, then other people can download it and check it with other solutions.

just to confirm i use avast, and i went to install the mapletsetup101 ( which i've had in my computer for a very long time ). i got the exact same warning, and elected for no action and it installed fine.

Yes, but later Avast doesn't allow Maplet to run. Another message appears: Windows doesn't have access to the device,....
The Avast version that i have blocks everything although you press in 'Not to make anything' icon.

I had norton and it didnt detect ay of the viruses avast did. I had the very same message with maplet 101.
