..is there any information about it?? I mean , I do understand that such informations are sensitive, but there must be reason why people want to release game trough Steam, and it must be one of the reasons (if not most important) profit..so, if there is no any exact numbers, what would be rational expectation regarding Steam sales??

The protection of your software it provides? And the massive one click buying consumer base you have.
Every customer can see your game in the "new game list" and there are over 10 mio users on steam. show me a different platform, other than AppStore and X360 Live Market, that share this attribute.
Now, beside AppStore, there is actually no other option where you could get in "that easily" and with that little investments.
