Chop movie files into bits!

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Chop movie files into bits!

Parp! :)

Does anyone know of a free program I can use to edit movie files? Such as stuff recorded from Fraps.

I used to use Adobe Premier at University and that has a nice system where you could open up an avi, use a tool to chop out sections and then drag the remaining part of the movie file to fill the gap. That's really the only feature I need. JUst drag in a movie, chop it into smaller chunks and then save out into separate files.

If anyone knows of any good utils I'd love to hear about them. Ta :)

VirtualDub?

Cheers Plash, downloading now. :)

;)

I use easy video splitter. Not free but there is a 7 day trial and it splits quite a few codec types well.

Windows Movie Maker (comes with the Windows OS).

What Bill Stanbrook said.

Movie Maker is very under-rated.

Thanks everyone! :)

I tried that Virtual Dub and it was just what I needed.

I use windows moview maker all the time for producing youtube videos. I've still not used all the features yet. But for writing tutorial videos it's brilliant. I use it in combination with camstudio, which is free.
