hi is there any sites out there that allow you to upload a pic to scan and if returns if the image was taken off the net? like finds matches to the image off other sites?

I know just interested to know really could be useful if there was a site that would compare pixels to find and exact or almost exact image and the site that it was off. but yea i agree it would be problably slow unless your computer and broadband was extremely fast.
The BBC programme "Click" showed a website a few weeks ago that did for pics what google does for text. It searched the net cataloguing images and compared them - it was even able to identify images that had been tweaked and altered. This might be similar to what you want.

Not exactly the same thing, but this http://ideeinc.com/products/pixid/ shows that the technology could work.
