Welcome to the widescreen club. I bought one a couple of months ago (22" like yours) and it's great for gaming and watching videos.

Also cuts down on eyestrain I've notcied (coming from a CRT).

I also just moved to a 22" widescreen not too long ago, then found out about potential problems running your game in desktop res when the desktop res is too large for the GPU. ;)

No more eye strain, can sit further back and code, lovely. :)

Not too sure on the contrast quoted. Sounds like 'dynamic' contrast, which is usually around 10X the real contrast.

I took nothing into account.

I merely browsed monitors - found mine and noted it had a good review - re-browsed it - found it to have several good reviews and bought it.

Part of me wonders if there is anything better at the same price; however, £168 (including delivery) seems good.

I am in the land of 1,680 by 1,050 and what a self-touching land it is.

puki: you never said what size you had to start with. I went from a 17 inch tft to a 22 inch widescreen, it was a hughe improvement. Of course my framerates all dropped as you have to run everything at 1680x1050 or it just looks ugly.

Mine is totally blinging.

Mine has loads of complex buttons and stuff - all technical stuff - f-Engine stuff and other stuff - Stuff City.

Has a blue LED power light - self-touch. Totally matches my other stuff.

I hate blue LED's. My laptop seems to be covered in the things. What ever was wrong with green or red LED's? Blue LED's were cool when they were new, but they haven't been new for many years now.

My Iiyama monitor, Dell monitor and Unicomp keyboard are beautifully adorned with green LED's, just like all geek computer gear should be.
