Pocket Surfer 2

New Pockect Surfer 2 has just surfaced

What are these things like to use?
(I know there is at least one Blitzer who has one of these)

In particular the keyboard?


The device uses GPRS for internet connection. The price is fairly good too ..


However, what are it's limitations?
Can it run YouTube videos for example? (Flash supported)

I bought a PS2 about a year ago.

I found the battery was very poor.

You get 2-3 hours battery life (which is okay) - However, the shelf life of the batter is poor - ie you have to charge it before use as it will lose its charge in a couple of days.

I never use mine anymore - having said that, I hardly used it when I had it.

It is as quick as advertised; however, compared to a PC it is slow.

Its standard operation is free-pay which is great for casual surfing.

It is ideal for someone who wants to (for example) surf in their lunchtime at work where they don't have internet access - or maybe when they have a train/bus journey.

The keyboard is fine - I wondered how well it would work, but I found it fine.

You forgot to mention that the images are re-compressed?

Yeh, but that is what makes it fast - It's a pretty good idea. Whilst on a site, it will continue to convert the images to higher quality as you stay on the site - it allows it to shunt the text quickly and then gradually suck in the images and update them.
