Intel about to come out ahead.

Ladies and gentlemen, the war is over. Intel wins.

Wins what GPUs CPUs? (page is blocked at work) :(

That's unfortunate.

Everyone benefits from a healthy competitive CPU market -- more incentive to innovate, and more incentive to keep prices competitive.

The less competition, the more likely you'll get overcharged.

CPUs. They bought the rights to, and future rights to any patents Transmeta have.

Indeed.

another one bites the dust, im waiting for AMD to buy Intel or the other way around.

im waiting for AMD to buy Intel or the other way around.

AMD is in no position to buy anything, they shouldnt even have bought ATI considering their current cash-flow problem :/

not even sure what transmeta do to be honest.

they make CPU's for embedded devices and ultra-portables.

Whoo-hooo!!
I've been Intel/nVidia forever..

What do you mean 'competition'?
AMD has been of no competion for about 3-4 years.
Intel has
1) been first-to-market with an affordable quad-core processor
2) a stable cash flow
3) lots of GAMERS that will never touch AMD.
4) just makes all around better products at competitive prices

Same thing with ATI...
nVidia blew away what little hold ATI/AMD had on the low-end market with the new G90 core,
and now the amazingly inexpensive 320 series.

Couple that with cash flow issues (they never should have bought ATI), and it's a wonder they're still in business.

the war is over
This war, that is.

AMD vs Intel & NVidia!
