1.2GB Witcher patch - free upgrade to purchasers
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/1.2GB Witcher patch - free upgrade to purchasers Do you know if old savegames of v1.3 are compatible with this. -
Still haven't finish the game.
I wish that more game devs would give this kind of long-term game support.

I wouldn't bother downloading it direct though. Get it from FileShack or something. The devs completely failed to predict the demand, and the servers were overrun with people downloading the files over and over again because the server was constantly dropping connections, meaning that they were just getting more and more snowed under. FileShack has the main 1.4 path, the English language pack and both new addon modules ( mini campaigns with 5-10 hours gameplay each. )
If you need the foreign language packs, you might still be stuck with the official site though.
Can't tell you if savegames are compatible, as I've started playing one of the new modules, and haven't dug out my old savegames yet.

These mirrors are quite capable too:

So the witcher will have to wait a while... :)

Witcher is my favourite RPG of all time so far. Won't bother with the patch since I don't like playing story based games more than once. It's only fun when you don't know whats coming next. I Was hoping they would put more effort into a new game rather than spend the best part of a year fixing and enhancing the original :(
Guess we will have to wait till next winter for the next big adventure.

How's Drakensang striking you?
Is it available in english?

You don't have to start over or replay any original content. The two new modules are completely standalone adventures.
I had a look around after Grisu posted it, and I think Drakensang isn't available until early next year in English.
hey cool. I guess I'll have to install it again then :) thanks for the info Gabriel :)
@MadJack: As far as I know, the English version isn't ready yet.

I think it's a decent rpg. Nothing one must have, but not bad either.
If you don't expect extreme gfx and a game world as large as Buglivion, you can enjoy it. :)

Wow, I found their physical retail package of this to be super impressive. Same price as any other PC game (cheaper than some). 6 disks: A bonus DVD, a making of DVD, a soundtrack CD, a "music inspired by the game" CD, and the game. And the music they have is actually really good! (Although there isn't any album art metadata, which angers me).
Also has a game guide and a map - usual things like that. For some reason the game guide I have appears to have been eaten away at by gerbils.
This is how PC games used to be packaged, and how they always should be; with lots of Stuff in the box to distract me while the thing installs.
Funny typo on their box, under their list of features:
Superbly polished translation and voice work, including:
-More than 5,000 lines re-written and re-recording in English
They then go on to write it correctly, with "completely re-recorded German voice-over". It seems like way too funny an error to have been by accident, but if not that is one amazing typo.
Other than that, the translations seem fine and the package really solid :)
