Max Wahyudi has constructed an incredible 3D model based on photos of his favourite actress

First, the WIP

Now, the final results

magic!

That was done in 2006. Look on his website for better stuff since then.

That's incredibly realistic. If they could animate them as realistically then you could do away with real life actors. Having said that, I thought the CG actors in Final fantasy were pretty convincing, they'd be even more real now.

AWESOME! He even got the nostrils right.

Are there any models, or is it just pictures?

While the ability to look human, stand and walk is probably enough for some people (Brad Pitt fans spring to mind) I do prefer my actors to have some acting ability. Call me fussy..

High res of Natalie Portman

I don't really follow the CGI scene nor do I have any modern game with CGI movies (Diablo2/exp and War3 being the last ones I've bought :P).

Are eyes and eye movement already ok these days? Somehow eyes are extremely tricky to do.

[edit] That Natalie pic has eyes that don't fool me..

OK... I'm quite impressed!

Ignore the waffle!

It looks very accurate except the hair is bad and the expression on the mouth is weird and there is absolutely no emotion in the image whatsoever. It still looks like a lifeless robot to me, but it is very good technically.

except the hair is bad
I don't think the hair is CG, from what I understand only the face is CG, the bit at the end where it strips back.

I think in that Emily video, it is a computer image all the time? And at the end they do some effects to make it more clear.

I don't understand it completely though... why make a movie of a real actor and then turn it into a computer image that is almost as good.

Yes ok to answer my own question I guess you can map the movement to different faces. (Forgot about that for a moment.)

Hahah, I was just about to say the same thing, although my choice of ludicrously poor actor was Keanu Reeves.

The guy with the hammer at the start of that video looks a bit like TECHNO VIKING.
