Telltale is doing Wallace and Gromit!

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Telltale is doing Wallace and Gromit!

Slightly aged news now, but Telltale Games has announced that they are creating a Wallace and Gromit game!

This seems absolutely perfect for them. Wallace and Gromit would be ideal in every way for the adventure genre, even split up into episodes (since they often exist in short films). I'm really excited now :)
Further, their artists have just the same style as Aardman's clay artists.

Another nice thing: This is of course a popular series, and Telltale is good at porting their games. Folks, we could be looking at the revival of the adventure game genre.

Ugh. I never liked Aardman... or Cosgrove Hall, for that matter. English animation is so unappealing! Telltale seem to be a talented bunch, though, and it's a shame that they don't create original titles.

I'm also not fond of this. TTG did an overall good job with Sam&Max (some epsiodes were weaker, some better, 204 for instance was very good) but for my taste it's too much licences (for a business sake?). Did you check out their Strong Bad serie? I really love adventures but this is just not my cup of tea. Some Strong Bad emails are funny but i just don't need to play this as an adventure. Same with Wallace and Gromit, kind of neat but it for sure doesn't come close to stuff like a Monkey Island or a Day of the Tentacle.

In my opinion they are going too much the safety way with licences and at least from a adventure gamers point of view wasting all their talent on such licences. I don't need Strong Bad as an adventure as well as i don't need Wallace and Gromit. I want successors to adventure marvels like listed above or really new content based on their own IP.

Kind of sad because they would have all the talent to do so. My guess is that if they wouldn't have done Sam&Max after the more than dissapointing Bones which they stopped doing then they wouldn't be were they are today. After Sam&Max they kind of exploded. Anything else they are doing just fine like a very well working online shop, great marketing, good pricing with sending you the DVDs after the seasons ended for free and so on, all very reasonable.

Anyway at least there will be a third season of Sam&Max. Maybe some day they will dare coming up with something new. Till then it seems that at least i only will be a Sam&Max customer.

English animation is so unappealing!

Not at at all - and its a hell of a lot better than Japanese animation. Now that is awful.

We actually cant wait for this!

We love W&G!

And was totally disappointed that the last game didn't come out on PC or Gamecube/Wii (the two platforms we have!)

BTW The new short should be out around Xmas!
