Woo, nice looking design. I'm loving handheld gadgets right now and I'd love to see one of these up close.
The only thing that irks me (and they're not the only manufacturer) is the gap between the D-pads and the screen, on both left and right sides. Why is it bigger than the gap between the D-pad and the edge? Look at the iPhone - they've pretty much got the screen right up to the edge of the device - this is the way it should be on all handhelds.
Oh - there is another thing that irks me. Shiny fingerprint friendly plastic - why? It's a device you use with your hands - it should be matt-mottled plastic. It annoys me that gadgets market themselves, and indeed sell to the consumer, by being 'shiny and new' in a display case.
looks nice :D with more features and a definate catalogue of games it would sell well but TBH they seem to be trying to take on the DS which isnt a good idea.
One thing I noticed, actually I read it somewhere else, is the A,B,X,Y buttons are on a D-Pad which makes it impossible to press more than 2 at once. No good for Mario type games. Unless of cause the D-Pad is actually segmented into 4 bits but it's hard to tell off the picture.
Sorry but IMO it looks horrible.
I'm not just talking aesthetically, either. As has already been alluded to here, it looks like an ergonomic nightmare. Yes, the D-pads are way too close to the sides - I get finger cramp just looking at the pics, especially when imagining using shoulder buttons in combo. God, the original GBA was bad enough for this but this thing takes the biscuit.
So far Pandora looks much better.
I really like the idea of an open handheld and most of the specs read really good but what i dislike is the design of the handheld. The screen looks kind of small and compared to Wii/iPhone alternative input possibilities are limited to the stylus.
By the way there also will be an new PSP coming in october with, if i remember correctly, built in microphone, a camera and an improved display. At least looks a lot sexier...
PSP; d'you know, I'd almost forgotten that thing existed. :P
Cool, finally a half decent OPEN console.
One key feature of the Wiz is the OLED display
These displays have unlimited view angles, require no backlight, consume low power and have rapid response rates

OLED displays are excellent, but prolonged use sees them turn gradually more yellow, as the blue elements fade.
Shouldn't be an issue for a portable device such as this, unless you're on it for 3+ hours a day for a couple of years!
Still, only 320x240 resolution. I was expecting 640x480 or a wide format.
Horrible name choice.
I think the name might have been inspired by the Wii as they both mean the same thing - or at least they do here in Liverpool.
:)
I think its a really cool idea, but what's with all the anime style art? Uggg I can't stand it!
It needs WiFi internet access - if it had this, I'd buy it without doubt.
