Blitz plus

Hi, i just wanted to ask if it is possible to make a messenger program in blitz plus and also how would be the best way to go about it if i got blitz plus? wanting to make my own messenger cause msn is rubbish. cheers

Possible? Sure. Practical? No. Why not just try one of the many MSN compatible programs that aren't rubbish, like Pidgin or Miranda? Surely you can find one that fits the bill! Writing your own, seems to be a bit overkill, unless it's something you have to do anyway (like for an assignment at Uni).

In either case, if you're hell bent on writing a messenger client yourself, from the ground up, and in a Blitz language, go for BlitzMAX. That way when you get really stuck trying to figure out how MSN does things, you can always try and see if you can wrap libpurple, and use that.

Flame is right, there are so many good messenger products out there, do you realy think you can code a better one and is it worth it?

Trillian is a nice little messenger that works with more or less everything.

Yea you both have a point, I'm just tryin to get something with all the functionallity of msn, like sharing of files, viewing of cam ect, i'll look up those programs you listed Flame and see wat they have in stall for me. thanks for the help, i might still try to make my own just for fun though :). thanks again cheers
