Nice Music that moods you into developing games!

Here are some I like to hear when I wanna get inspired\excited into developing something (artistically, mainly. Coding with sound makes me get distracted):

The two first are from Time Crisis: Project Titan (it didn't get as much recognition as a game, but I find their music production to be of exceptional quality).

Amazingly enough, I don't listen to Pop (or rather "poop" - sorry for this pun), Rock, Jazz, Blues or whatever. All I listen is game music...all.

I can code best in total silence.
Alas, it's nearly impossible to get total silence, and the best chance is at winter time with 50 cm thick snow on the ground (so it dampens ambient noise), and in a cottage with no people in 10 km radius.
But even then the silence is broken by a high pitch sound in your ears, since your ears are not used to total silence.

Yeh, music distracts you.

Just get a large bottle of Johnson's baby oil and slap it all over. I tend to sit on a towel on the seat of my chair and put my chair on an old blanket to catch the drips.

ps, it is best to be totally naked - I find it can give you that little edge over everyone else.

Music made for my personal projects. Not while coding though.

Any techno/beaty ambience usually.

I find music distracting when i'm trying to think on multiple levels, but for most programming, music just helps me keep going without boring myself to death. So I just pause for a few seconds when i'm having massive brain farts.

I used to have music going 24/7, including while sleeping, so I don't understand people who can draw, model, code, work and not lose their mind without some music (unless you're on drugs? which music is better for anyways)

And yeah...you may want to remove those links. If someone wants to pirate your songs, they only need the names, not illegal links to them.

Silence for me when I'm working too. If I have to have music it would be some light classical background music with no lyrics.

When I'm frustrated or otherwise not really coding, I listen to techno, ambient and new age instrumental on Pandora.

At night is usually the only time I don't listen to music (night is the only time it's silent for me).

Heh, I only listen to music at night, not when working though. It's the only time I can hear it clearly, when there's not ambient city noises in the BG.

Depending on what i am doing:
-coding (non distracting),
-modelling(rock/heavy),
-debugging(calm as possible),
-drawing(rock/heavy)).

If it's a hard problem were you really have to think about then i mostly prefer silence. For coding less stressing parts i'm open for everything between Keith Jarrett, Radiohead, Manu Chao, C64 and Amiga music.
