Speed Test - How fast are you?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Speed Test - How fast are you? Apparently I'm too fast for the test. After a few pages, it crashed, gave me the word undefined over and over again and ignored anything I input.
I got 91 words per minute with one error. I know I've done just over 100 before at an employment agency test, but my casual typing speed is more like 70. I think it helps to type fast when you're writing lots of sourcecode :-)
Without rushing I got: 52wpm ; 0 errors
Rushing I got: 64wpm ; 1 error

Learning to type has been on my "to do" list for what... 20 years? :-)

Hm... I get 56 WPM in that test -- the randomness of the words slows me down a bit. I get 65 WPM average on http://www.typingtest.com
89 WPM with 5 stupid little errors. Not being able to see the next batch of words ahead of time ruins the test slightly.
I got a dismall 38 WPM but 'I am' using an eee PC keyboard!
A couple of mistakes too which is more or less what I would get on a normal keyboard
I tried the test a second time around but it never seems to end.

81wpm, 1 error.
The randomness of the words doesn't really make it a fair test. Typing normal sentences I'm way faster than that.

it didn't work properly for me the first few times, I'd been typing for well over a minute before I noticed that the counter wasn't going down... :)
After finally getting it to work I got 63 WPM, 0 errors

40 WPM, 0 error
72 wpm, one error. As GFK said the non intuitive word arrangement followed by not being able to read the next lot of text (I read ahead a fair bit of what I'm typing), probably drops pace by around 20%
51 wpm, 2 errors.
92 wpm, 3 errors (using "hunt and peck" typing, without looking at the keyboard though :) ).
I agree that the random word arrangement and broken flow of words slows me down a lot.

I don't get it, I typed in tons of pages and got no result and the last page said undefined multiple times and stop moving onto the next word when I pressed space. Bummer.
Some on IRC can't get it to work either.
My WPM is too crap to even mention here. Then again, I did have a hangover at the time. :)

crashed on me
i kept on going just too read the silly phrases, kinda like when you grab random mag poetry words out
the errors i did get were like from and form or i mis read a word due to the scentance almost looking normal
i agree though if this was lets just retype REAL phrases it would have better
when i was in school taking my 4th year options i chose typing over IT
for two reasons
i decided that if we were STILL going to be using bbc comps for that then why bother, it was the early 90's after all (and we were 3 to a machine then)
it was over subscribed in the end so i would have had to take my second choice (but they had nimbus branded pc's)
the other reason was my hand writing was abismal and i was doing my english course work on an amstrad 9512 with daisy wheel printer and wanted to be better at typing
so typing wordprocessor lightly resulted in nothing happening ;) and typing typewriter hard resulted in way too many keys on screen :p
an upshot of it was i was one of 2 boys in a 30 class, but they dissapointingly sat me at the front :(

39, 4 errors. good enough for me (german), i never ever learned the 10 finger system and maybe never will ;)
197 wpm, 0 errors.. usually I type faster but I was holding a cup of tea in one hand.
"sentence back them being plant not name set right would undefined undefined undefined undefined undefined" :(
257 words per minute. 257 errors. I was practicing for "summer games" in MAME.
600 words per minute, half a finger.
Try this one too!
Finger Frenzy (type the whole alphabet as fast as you can. Very fun!)

ive been using qwerty for so long ive forgotten my abc's ;)
I got 39 WPM with one hand :)
Neither have I - you can learn to type as fast as you need simply by typing. The more you type the faster you'll get.

Censored because of the badness of it.

Wowch, faster than I thought. I want to dedicate my efforts to the original quest games, god knows how many times I've written the word 'examine'
