Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/New Nvidia PhysX Drivers Released

Nvidia have released their new PhysX-enabled drivers. There are a few demos and a free game available too.

Geforce 8x00 and up only.

Cool... Good grief. 118.2mb just for the XP drivers alone...

I think I'll try the Warmonger game and the Fluid demo too. The other stuff doesn't interest me.

It seems the new PhysX driver comes with a load of demos written in DarkBasic :/

Tried the bundled demos and XORS3D demo... all I can say is WOW!... even on a single 8800GTS there is no noticeable loss of rendering speed, yet the physics detail can now be ramped up to max, the over all FPS goes through the roof without the physics overhead dragging the CPU... no other software only physics API can compare... its a glimpse of the future for me..! :D

The Game Creators are pally with them, they hosted a competition, about a year back or so back and nVidia sponsored it.

You'll also find TGC are hooked up with MS too with their Dark SDK!

Even though not many people here enjoy using their products over BRL's line up, you've got to tip your hat at their marketing guy (or gal) for getting them in the right circles....

Dabz

P.S. A tadge off-topic, sorry Gabz mate! ;)

The DB PhysX demos are the slowest Ive seen in any language, NV would do well to avoid them...

The DB physx demos ran pretty well on my system.
