Far Cry 2 system specs

The system specs for the game Far Cry 2 has been published by Ubi Soft. I think they are moderate for such a great looking game. Hopefully it will come out this year :).

I wish companies would start stating which laptop video cards are well enough to run. I hate it being a crapshoot as to whether or not they'd run on my MacBook Pro since it's just a faster machine than my gaming rig.

Anyways, I'm curious as to what the game looks/runs like on the minimum sys requirements. I've been pretty leery about them this last couple years as it usually means "low/partial-med detail, with a shaky 20fps" from my experience.

Wow. I had no idea people still believed system requirements from publishers.

Just wishful thinking Gabe I think. It will play on my system, it will play on my system - it says so here! ;-)

I know that my Xbox 360 perfectly fulfills the system requirements for Far Cry 2 (Xbox 360)... ;-)

Anyway. Out of an old habit and for some PC-only games that I still have, I also ordered an nVidia 8800 GT upgrade for my Mac Pro which will arrive on Monday or Tuesday. But that's about as far as my interest in upgrading my Mac for games goes. I also have an irrational hope that this will fix the issues that Aperture has with my two GT 7300 graphic cards.

So my CPU's a Pentium R (D) 3.00Ghz - which is better than the min spec (Pentium D 2.66 Ghz), but not that much better...

...and I've got 2gigs ram and an 8600GT 512 meg vid card so that's ok I guess.

Still, I have the feeling it's not going to run that well under even medium settings?

And then there's Total War:Empire to think about.

May be time to upgrade!

All the modern games are still quite playable on my system in high settings so long as you stay at 1024x768 and don't have AA on.

Genexi2: that is not needed. No game officially supports mobile chipsets at all. The reason is that those drivers are often modified by the notebook creator which can break them.

But you can calculate it yourself. Notebook cards are normally hardwarewise the next lower desktop pendant
