Having the same applied to real life incidents for some reason creeps me out (especially when kids are involved).
You see, I wrote the last comment on purpose. In that case it took fun of a logical fallacy of a statement (or at least I hope), rather than on the people involved, which is not as bad. The kind of comments you mention however are often just used to attract attention when made on thought, and moreso when did on instinct even if on a subconscious level, but you can't really tell from some sparse comments in a discussion board. I agree that in the latter case it can show a degree of mental disorder (which is anyway widespread among the teens and often connected to social issues and bad parenting).
Anyway, while outside of this context black humour would show a lack of sensibility, I still consider it acceptable if just news related... reality itself is often grotesque even if you are not cynical, and it's not out of the ordinary to find the irony. That goes on a certain degree of course and does not include bad taste, hate messages, racism and the such.
