So, they released a downloadable game, then an update for it that required CD verification, completely forgetting that many people didn't actually have a CD because they'd downloaded it?
Then as if that wasn't the epitome of stupidity already, they started shipping somebody else's 'crack' with it to remove the CD checking, even though they could have probably fixed the probl...... ah sod it. I'm going to give up trying to fathom the logic of some companies.
Damn. Was just about to post this myself. Embarrassing, to say the least.

Naturally, this theft prevention tool was meanwhile no problem for software pirates. A hacked executable removing the CD-check was soon readily available
Seems like the only people disadvantaged by most of these anti-piracy methods, are the legitimate users. The pirates just see it as an entertaining challenge.

And the rest of us see it as delicious irony. Thank god they stole it from a reputable cracking crew, and didn't release a trojan.
