Um... I don't understand why there aren't more decent walking machines, this one is poor due to it being an amateur project, but it's not like we've not got the technology to do it properly.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be chuffed if I'd made it, but in the grand scheme of things it's not very good!

There are. Someone sometime ago posted a youtube link of what the US military was working on. It had 4 legs and basically walked like a human. It was really realisitic. There was a bit in the vid wher someone kicked it and it managed to stay on it's feet in the same way humans do when nudged.

It was spooky to watch.

Now that Robot they were developing deffinately had some realistic walking, waybetter than decent. In fact it was too human like which was the spooky thing about it.

foppy's vid is cool, Amazing that it can manage such difficult terrain. The US is going to start using exoskelletons within the next few months so people can carry more equipment and load trucks more easil, cutting a lot of injuries.

when i first saw the mule one i did think it was two people in leotards doing some performance art thing, untill it got closer that is
the petrol engine version is very noisy you could hear that thing coming a mile away, sadly the electric one involves it being kept indoors with a support crane feeding it juice
although i think i saw a veeeeery long extention lead coming out of the first video
