My Computer doesn't play Cds Automatically, why?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/My Computer doesn't play Cds Automatically,why?

He everyone, I wasn't sure where to go to get this question
answered, so I thought I would just post it here.

I recently got a new computer, and it doesn't auto play Cds.
If I go to my computer, and tell it to play them manually it works
just fine. But they should start up right away when I pop them
in to the tower.

So, does anyone know why this is happening?
Is there a driver that I might be missing?
or a program?

If someone could answer this question, that would certainly be
helpful.

Walnut, start explorer, right click on the cd/dvd drive (nothing has to be in it), click on the auto play tab and set it how you want

Check your file types in control panel folder options.

Vista or XP?

Under XP you can eitehr enable/disable the "auto-insert notification" which will kick in on either all discs or never. Under Vista you can customize the behaviour based on the type of disc (audio CD, CD-ROM, DVD, video-CD, etc.)
