Apply a texture to an object in blender.

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Apply a texture to an object in blender.

Hi,

I've been playing around with blender and absorbing a few tutorials.

I have trouble in texturing an object, does anyone know how or can they point me to a tutorial.

Nice to see it supports .dds textures, I have loaded a texture into a material but don't know how to apply it.

Thanks Mortiis, I knew an answer would only be minutes away on this forum ;)

texturing in blender seems fiddly and odd at first but is quite good once you get your head round it.

Quoted out of context for truth. :o)

You're not wrong, I am still trying to work it out! ^^

I have a U/V window with a texture in it but still haven't worked out how to apply that to an object.

[Edit] OK it is now applied to a cube, It shows in render/preview and render but not in the top down view. I have 'Textured' selelcted for the view type...any ideas why it doesn't show the texture?
