Security update KB9517478

Hi there,
This update, KB951748, installed itself and promptly blocked my access to the internet. I just got a server not found error. So if you suddenly get similar problems it might be worth checking your update list.

Yup had this problem, I bet you use ZoneAlarm right?

Check your update list by all means, but don't remove it, it's a vital security patch to fix a bug with DNS. It does sound like the ZoneAlarm issue though.

Hey Gabriel, You don't need to uninstall the MS security patch, if you download the latest zonealarm from that link, it will work fine after that, This is what I have done :)

That's what I said. Don't uninstall it. It sounds like the problem you mentioned, but even if it's not, better to find a solution than to remove it.

Thanks for all the advice. Now installed the zone alarm patch and reinstalled the security update which I'd uninstalled so that I could get onto the web to find out what to do!!!:)

I had this too, glad I wasn't the only one to suffer from sudden Internet loss. I always get problems when I update Windows.

...except it was nothing to do with Windows. It was caused by ZoneAlarm.
