Just ordered an Apple Macbook

Its a MacBook´2.2GHz black with 160 GB harddrive and 1 GB ram.

I want it to be able to program for the iphone 3G (which I get tomorrow) and Blitzmax.

Is this macbook okay for blitzmax?

Nice. I'm tempted to get a Mac, mainly to be able to write for my iPod Touch.

You'll have no trouble with BlitzMax on that machine.

I would have added another gig of RAM if you are going to be doing any serious development on it.

Except if you get it done through Apple it could cost you an arm and a leg :-)
(At least, their memory is pricey!)

Is there third party ram?

I put 4GB into my MacBook when I bought it. I didn't buy Apple's overpriced RAM, though. I went to NewEgg and got it for about a quarter of the price (maybe less). The installation instructions are readily available and easy to follow.

Actually I put ram in my macmini very easily, just bought the ram from tigerdirect. Even though they make the mac line very tidy, there are lots of tutorials and videos out there to help you do it yourself without breaking anything.

Me too. 4 gig for £63. Much cheapness :-)

Yesterday I opened up my old Mac mini ppc and removed the 256 mb ram in it and added 512 (the only one I could find here at home that wasn't in use) Too bad I didn't have a spare harddrive for it since 20gb feels a bit small these days.
And, my boss ordered me an Apple Macbook a couple of days ago. (The same you did, I think. The specs looks similar). He also ordered 4gb of ram from another place, since I need my arms for coding, and the legs to walk to the kitchen to make coffee. (working from home is great!)
The bad news about the macbook is that it will arrive when I am away on hollidays. :/

Today I got my iphone 3G and my macbook arrieved.
Now its time for starting programming the phone.
