Hiring Low Poly 3D Artist

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Hiring Low Poly 3D Artist

Before I begin my description of what I need, I would like to say that yes I know there are better places to find artists. Perhaps ill try some of them. But I like the folks here so ill try here first.

What I am making is an online Visual MUD . It will simply be a text based mud game with a 3D shell that makes it much easier to navigate. All text commands can be input like the muds of old, or you can use the interface. For the characters of this realm I want Low poly game peices. The image below I saw on the troll model thread shows what im looking for . This is the real thing naturally. If you have the talent, and time to do this let me know we can discuss payment details and timeframe. Im going to need about 30 characters to start with and more with each expansion of the software. They need not be animated or boned in any way. Each character should be between 200 - 800 poly. with textures not to exceed 512x512 per character.

Its fine to post here, and let me know you sent me an email. Then I can check my spam filter if I havent read it, but please dont place details here, this is intended as a professional business offer not one I want to bash out the details of in public.

May you give me the address of these places to find low poly artists
Thanks in advance

The first place that springs to my mind is the IndieGamer portfolio forum.

Im going to try my skills at the troll, will let you know if Im up for the challenge ;)

Rif, Rob Cummings could do this NP. No idea where he's at these days. And of course I don't know his workload so I can't speak for him. The models you're after remind me of the monster he did for that darkbasic game. The one made by Traci. Some battle demo.

Thanks, Ashmantle. Let me know

Chroma, hopefully he'll scan this topic.

I've had a few replies , thank you to those who have contacted me.. While I wait on some details such as pricing ect. I thought I would try my hand at making a miniature myself, and this was the result. Keep in mind I have no skills, just alot of time to try it this evening.

Although the quality isnt that great, that is sorta what im going for, you can see however I did most of the coloring via face coloring , not alot of texturework there at all, wich is ugly.

Oh my, I can see now Im going way to high quality :p Thats not bad for though, you def. have skills!

Well, a little higher than that is ok, I just dont have the ability to make it any better :)

I can help you out. My time is limited so I probably won't be able to do that many models. Shoot me an e-mail and let know how you want to work the payment out, provided you like the work I do of course. cnisbet@...
