Latest FL Studio contains virus?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Latest FL Studio contains virus?

I`m using FL Studio 8 and Avast keeps saying that it contains a virus. I have seen the same thing mentioned on their forums from users using different virus programs like AVG.

Anyone know if this is a false alarm?

Jason.

I'm using the FL Studio v8 demo, and whilst it's been here I've scanned the computer with AVG 8.0, Avast, Trend Micro Housecall and Bitdefender.

Nothing's come up thus far. Well, nothing to do with FL Studio, anyway.

I'm sure you'll agree it's extremely unlikely any legitimate copy of FL Studio 8 has a virus attached to it - but I don't blame you for asking.

Some antivirus detect in-exe compression based on NRV as viruses. It would be great if you can provide additional info about wich virus is being detected.

There seems to be quite a lot of threads about it on their forums. I think it is a false positive. Only happened recently after a Avast update just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem.

Jason.

It's been confirmed as a false positive in one of the FL forum threads -- their advice is to make sure you got the installer from Image Line (rather than a 3rd party) as that's the file that has been investigated.

Thanks. I do use the official version from ImageLine so that`s OK. Do you know if they are doing anything to rectify the situation?

Jason.

What can they do? they may release a new update but its down to avg etc to resolve as well.

Pop onto the forums. :-)

Sorry, what I meant was I hope that they have alerted the anti-virus software developers so that they can update the latest versions of their software.

Jason.
