Blitz in odd places...
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Blitz in odd places...
After looking at the knighthood thread, I got the idea to make a commodore logo in inkscape( I keep looking for simple ideas to practice on. )
Anyways, a google for "commodore logo" brought up this interesting image. Then I noticed the package that is sitting on the bar...

So okay. Own up. Which one of you is dating or married to this chick?
I know this must be one of your girlfriend's or wives.
Or theory #2, it actually is one of you.
C'mon. 'Fess up.
Reminds me of Tong Po out of Kickboxer O_O
(to be fair, its just the barnet that does that)
I like her girlfriend.
lol @ "tong po"
NOOO, I saw her first!
I know this must be one of your girlfriend's or wives.
I'd be willing to venture that:
A. They are together (the two ladies above) as a couple
B. Neither has anything to do with blitz (perhaps the photographer, or maybe the bartender)
C. I second mrtricks
:)
according to the site that image is on, they are:
Nicky and her friend, Melissa (Miss) with a big Commodore logo on her head!
and apparently they are at the 2002 version of this:
http://www.backintimelive.com/
Didn't I go to that? Maybe the box is mine.
The picture is taken at the "Back In Time 2002" (I was there).
Unfortunately the tattoo is fake on the girl, BUT I have a real one on my chest !! (True!)
Behold !
Did they run off when you came looming up, feverishly unbuttoning your shirt? "Lemme show you my chicken head!" etc
how do you know its not the bartenders copy of blitz ? lol
Guys, there's something you're not realizing. That's Blitz Basic, not Blitz3D! You probably know how old that is now. There is no evidence whatsoever that the owner of that can even post on this forum. In fact, if the picture was taken recently, the owner more than likely doesn't even have Blitz3D. If he did, he wouldn't have Blitz Basic laying around.
But, what a coincidence! Or is it...? I mean, how many people leave software laying around at a bar? But, then again, I don't know why anyone would put an old version of Blitz in a picture on purpose...
I'm confused... :$
Someone was advertising Blitz.
Blitz3D poster

2 BlitzBasic posters on the right

BlitzBasic box with Blitz3D box underneath

Platypus poster
Someone was selling Blitz products- boxes on the bar (2nd image) and the boxes of B3D and Blitzbasic in the back (final pic).
Maybe it's Mark Sibly? Are these pictures in New Zealand?
Are these pictures in Iceland New Zealand?
LOL
Iceland... New Zealand... same thing really.
Just being more specific.
I'm not laughing at what you said, Plash. You were right on the money. Iceland and NZ are not the same place ;)
I didn't even know that :P
LOL
If they were, things like this would seem strange...
http://climate.weather.com/articles/icelandwhales052208.html(just a random article off the web)
heheh.
ok ok .. is someone just showing off their photoshop skills here ? - lol
Iceland... New Zealand... same thing really.
Yeah. Except on diametrically opposed sides of the planet. But no, it was George Bray pushing Blitz at BIT Live IIRC.
You people get sarcasm, right? ;)
sorry... was late :)
Its just a pity that they double-booked Back In Time to clash with the "2002 Stupid Beard Convention".
Beardies of the world unite! :)
Did they run off when you came looming up, feverishly unbuttoning your shirt? "Lemme show you my chicken head!" etc
He he ;)
It was "Back in Time 2000" all right, but George Bray and Steve Smith (xMystic)
had a boot in one of the corners of the club from where they pushed Blitz-material
along with some guys pushing all kind of Commodore related stuff.
I do not remember the name of the club but it was in sentral London, England !!
The show also featured Commodore related celibrities as Jeff Minter, Ben Daglish, Bjørn Lynne (Dr. awsome), Press Play On Tape (They performed with Benn) and a lot more.
And of course Chris Abbot who put it all together...
From the BB community were among others George Bray, Steve Smith, Semar, Ravey, Chiefy, Matt Septhon and Myself....
Jeff Minter with Llamasoft, discussing where he got his T-shirt from.
This, just in from the GFK Live webcam....

;o)
This, just in from the GFK webcam....

lol!
@markcw: He he, that's me standing up behind Yak ! :)
where is the original thread on this? I am sure deja vu was even better the first time around :-)
classic shot of Jeff Minter, he led the way to some amazing Indian Restaurant I remember - took over half the joint!!
@wedoe: really? I thought it was maybe another member of Llamasoft who couldn't find a seat. :)
Nice tattoo. I have a tattoo too, what do you think?
That guy looks like Junior Samples
Nah, no resemblance hardly.
what do you think?
Heart disease and diabetes in twenty to thirty years time?
Heart disease and diabetes in twenty to thirty years time?
Nice try, but that tiny bit of funniness in the remark was totally nullified by your immaturity.
nullified
You spelt amplified wrong.
> Heart disease and diabetes in twenty to thirty years time?
That's an old picture, I've lost a lot of weight since then.
Heart disease and diabetes in twenty to thirty years time?
Sorry mate - that was a snarky thing to post.
That's an old picture, I've lost a lot of weight since then.
Good for you. I know first-hand that is not an easy thing to do :)
what do you think?
What exactly is it ?
It's a Zune tattoo.
>Nice tattoo. I have a tattoo too, what do you think?
I think that having a folding chair tattoo is a must.
ummm, you have a tattoo of a zune? I think I just lost a bit of respect for you :-(
It's a Zune tattoo.
I assume Zune is an important part of your life then :o)
Tattoos are supposed to be the story of you - on you, right ?
I have two more tattoos and I'm going for a few more when I find
something important enough and have the time :o)
One of my XmasBonus levels was a Commodore logo which I snuck in there as a tribute to the best computers ever!
Definitely, I loved Zune so much I thought it would be fun to get a tattoo.
Then I got another Zune tattoo on my right arm.
at first i thought it was the silicon graphics hexagon shape but misremembered
hmm zune or ipod i just treat each as a music device
mind you im not painted
everyone i know seems taken aback by that when i tell them so
ive had a few hennas and magic markers
found a shop in manchester when visiting my brother that does scarrification
kinda glad i was only visiting and not living there cos i know one design id love carved into me
markcw:
You're not fooling us into believing you're the "Zune guy".. :p
Aww.
Blimey ! Lars is right.
makkcw is : Mark Mcvittie
zune guy : Steve Smith
http://www.pmptoday.com/2007/09/18/guy-has-three-zune-tattoosI'm too gullible !! :/
I had you going there, wedoe. :)
If you type "commodore logo" into google images like Orca says he did in the OP, the Zune guy is on the very first page. It made me laugh so I thought I'd post it here, but to keep on topic I had to pretend it was my tattoo. I didn't think anyone would believe me. No offense intended to anyone except the Zune guy.
I had you going there, wedoe. :)
Why shouldn't I believe in you, BB'ers can be strange people, he he
